Immediate Opening for Architectural Intern

Carlson Veit Junge Architects PC, in Salem, Oregon, has immediate Architectural Intern openings for energetic new employees to jump into our firm with both feet. 

Carlson Veit Junge Architects designs a wide variety of projects and building types, which gives each member of the firm broad experience in all aspects of project design and management. We encourage you to view our web page www.carlsonveit.com to see some of examples of our past projects. As the profession of architecture develops around us, we encourage learning every day. Continuing education seminars, intern development activities, building tours, and professional organization activities are a few of the coordinated events that you will participate in as a valued member of the firm. 

Open position requires a professional degree in architecture, preferred on-the-job experience, and a proficient knowledge of AutoCAD, Revit, Sketch-Up, and Adobe Creative Suite. 

Our benefits package includes paid vacation and holidays, medical, dental and vision insurance, professional organization dues, licensing fees, and retirement plan contributions. Salary commensurate with extent of past experience, technical background, and education.

Craig Carlson retires

Craig Carlson Retires from Carlson Veit Architects

Craig Carlson retired from Carlson Veit Architects on December 31, 2016 after 39 years and 4 months with the firm. Craig’s career began in 1977 when he started at Saabye & Gribskov Architects as an intern. After completing his internship and passing the architectural registration exams he became a registered architect in September 1981. In October 1984 Craig became a shareholder, taking on larger projects around Salem and the Pacific Northwest such as the Lancaster Professional Center and several shopping centers in the Salem area. The firm name was changed to Saabye, Gribskov & Carlson Architects PC.

Craig established Carlson Veit Architects PC in 1988 along with Chris Veit. In his 1,526-project career, Craig spearheaded many notable projects in Salem and throughout the Northwest such as the Unitarian Universalist Church in Salem, Chemeketa Community College Yamhill Valley Campus, and Chemeketa Salem Campus Buildings 20, 21 and 42.

In retirement Craig looks forward to completing remodel projects in his house and spending more time riding his four motorcycles. He would like to thank Chris Veit, Mike Junge, Jan Shaffer, current and past Carlson Veit employees, clients, and contractors, all of whom have been an integral part of his life and career as an architect.
